SIMAPS - Assistive and Monitoring System for People with Special Healthcare Needs
SOP-IEC ID 49786 (Sectoral Operational Programme “Increasing Economic Competitiveness”, 2014 – 2015)
Target of research programme: Increasing the Competitiveness of the Innovative Regional Cluster EURONEST IT&C Hub and stimulating interactions between members for the development of high technology products and services
SMIS Code: 49786 No. 104/17.11.2014
Funding type: POS-CCE
Duration: 2014-2015
The TUIASI team developed a prototype mobile system for remote patient monitoring. The system allows physicians to monitor a patient’s vital signs (SpO2, ECG, temperature) and movement even when they are not physically present in front of an existing wired medical monitoring station. Another advantage of this prototype is that, due to the mobile sensors used and their low-power consumption profile, this system allows for a greater degree of freedom of movement for non-critical patients. This prototype had been tested at the Moineşti Emergency Hospital, Bacău county, in Romania.

GRAI - Academic Grid for Complex Applications
National Excellence Research Programme (CEEX)
The TUIASI team coordinated a consortium comprised of 4 universities and one research institute in developing an academic Grid that would support research activities. TUIASI’s core team developed applications for data mining (association rule mining and cluster analysis) and visualisation tasks. These applications were then embedded in wrappers and exposed as Grid services for interested parties. Another important result is the mobile agent based Grid service which exposes various interfaces that allow an interested client to develop their own AI applications.
